Most of my sessions in Bodrum do not happen in a studio. They happen on villa terraces above the sea, in hotel gardens under olive trees and on the decks of boats anchored in quiet bays. Here is what to expect when you book private yoga in Bodrum and your teacher comes to you.
Before the session
It usually starts with a short message. I ask where you are staying, how many people would like to practise, and whether there is anything I should know: injuries, pregnancy, a sore back after the flight, or simply that you have never done yoga before. This takes two minutes and makes the hour that follows far more useful.
If you are booking for guests, family or a group of friends, it helps to know whether everyone would like to practise together or one after the other.
The space you need
Less than most people think. A quiet, flat area of roughly three by three metres per person is enough: a terrace, a lawn, a pool deck or the open deck of a boat. Shade matters more than view in July and August. On a yacht, the calmest moments are usually early in the morning or once the boat is anchored for the evening.
The best time of day
Bodrum summers are hot, so mornings and the hour before sunset tend to work best. Early sessions set the tone for the day. Evening sessions slow everything down before dinner and are a lovely moment to add a sound healing extension.
How the hour unfolds
- ArrivingWe talk briefly about how you feel today. I watch how you stand, breathe and move before we begin.
- MovementThe practice is built in real time: somatic, fascia-focused, mobility work, hatha, vinyasa, yin or gentle asana, depending on what your body needs that day.
- StillnessEvery class closes with a short mindfulness meditation so the nervous system can integrate the work.
- Optional soundA sound healing extension with Tibetan and crystal bowls can be added at the end, when the body is open and receptive.
Families, couples and groups
Private yoga in Bodrum works well for more than one person. Couples often enjoy practising side by side, and small groups of friends or family can share a class adapted to different levels. For larger events and retreats, a group sound journey under the open sky is a beautiful way to end the day.
Booking for hotel or villa guests
Concierges and villa managers can book a free time for their guests on the Availability page. If you would like to offer sessions to your guests regularly, see concierge partnerships.
As a Bodrum yoga teacher who has worked on location for many years, my aim is simple: you should be able to roll out of bed, step onto the terrace and practise without thinking about logistics. See my free times to plan your session.
